Additionally, Guzheng ensembles from different schools across Western Australia will join in the performance, bringing further musical richness of the evening.

The Guzheng Odyssey
The Guzheng Odyssey concert is hosted by the Western Australia Guzheng Academy, and will be a unique musical experience.
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm, 9th December

A group of exceptional instrumentalists from WA will join with the Guzheng musician Xueyan Chen, featuring Guzheng collaboration with Didgeridoo, Piano, Percussion, Violin and Cello.
There will also be the debut of WA Youth Guzheng Ensemble, where eight lovely and talented children from different schools will bring their best performances.
Different groups of students from CCGS, PLC, Hale School and Oberthur PS are also enthusiastic about performing the Guzheng at this concert.

Amazing Prep Guzheng Ensemble at CCGS
The CCGS Prep Guzheng ensemble started at the beginning of 2021. Boys have been practising these instruments twice a week with Ms Chen, and you can see how amazing they are by clicking here. The instruments have been incredibly popular with boys and the CCGS Music Department has included Guzheng as part of the music program from early 2021.
Chinese New Year musical incursion
CCGS Preparatory School boys enjoyed learning about the Guzheng during their Chinese lessons helped by Ms Liu. The lessons involved a workshop conducted by Xueyan Chen. The boys loved trying out this wooden instrument and watching performances by Ms Chen. Ms Chen is now assisting the Preparatory School in establishing Guzheng ensembles.
